The museum library
After closing down the Department of Egyptology of the University of Amsterdam, the Allard Pierson Museum took over and maintained the library of this department. Most books originate from the former library of Egyptology.

Education
The Allard Pierson Museum is very apt to visit with pupils. There are special programs in different levels for (Dutch) schoolchildren. You can also book a guided tour (Dutch or English).

Conservation
Restauratiewerk in ons museum is zeer gevarieerd: niet alleen kan het gaan om het 'opknappen' van voorwerpen van aardewerk, steen, metaal, glas, faience, hout, leer, papyrus of zelfs mummies, het gaat in de eerste plaats om de veiligheid van die voorwerpen in alle opzichten: restauratie houdt meer in dan schoonmaken en lijmen van voorwerpen.
